The Bordeaux School of Neuroscience is part of Bordeaux Neurocampus, the Neuroscience Department of the university of Bordeaux. It has been founded in 2015 by Christophe Mulle, its current director. For its installation, the School benefited from LabEx Brain funds and university support, which provided it with modern premises in the Functional Genomics Center. The structure has been chosen by the European Federation of Neurosciences (FENS) and the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO) to organize the prestigious “Cajal Advanced Neuroscience Training Program“. Throughout the year, renowned researchers, promising young researchers and many students from any geographical horizon come to the School. Thus, it contributes greatly to the reputation of Bordeaux as a stronghold of neuroscience. Recently, the School has been assisting in the development of the new “Bordeaux Neurocampus Graduate Program” of the University of Bordeaux, by organizing training programs dedicated to Master’s and doctoral students in neuroscience or other disciplines interested in the brain.
Our vocation
Training in neuroscience research through experimental practice, within the framework of a real research laboratory : it is on this principle that the School works. It offers to a practical training of the highest technological level.
The facility & services offered
Our dedicated laboratory (500m2), available for 20 trainees, is equipped with a wet lab, an in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology room, IT facilities, a standard cellular imaging room, a behavioral animal facility and catering and meeting spaces.
We also have access to high level core facilities such as the Bordeaux Imaging Center, Brain Imaging, functionnal genomics…
